Data Recapture Exercise

RSA Registration

The Data Recapture Exercise (DRE) is a mandatory requirement introduced by the National Pension Commission (PenCom) for all Retirement Savings Account (RSA) holders. It requires RSA holders to update and validate their personal information with their Pension Fund Administrator (PFA), in line with PenCom’s Revised Guidelines for Retirement Savings Account Registration.

A key prerequisite for completing the DRE is the possession of a National Identity Number (NIN). The NIN enables the alignment of RSA holder information with records maintained by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). Please note that any discrepancies between your RSA details and NIMC records may delay or prevent the successful completion of the exercise.

To facilitate the DRE, PenCom introduced PENCAP, which is the Data Recapture self-service platform, that allows RSA holders to conveniently complete the DRE remotely without visiting any of our branches. The information submitted on PENCAP is validated against the NIMC database and updated on the Enhanced Contributor Registration System (ECRS), the central database used by PenCom to maintain accurate and up to date records for RSA holders. This further ensures seamless pension contributions and benefit payments.

.

Kindly note the following important information:

  • You will be required to register on the PENCAP portal, complete the online form with accurate and up to date information, upload the required documents as listed in the checklist below then complete a live facial capture.
  • Please ensure your DRE is submitted within 30 days of registration.
  • Upon submission, your request will be reviewed and processed within five (5) working days.
  • Status updates would be sent via SMS to your registered mobile number.

DRE is compulsory for all RSA holders who joined the Contributory Pension Scheme on or before 01 July 2019 as failure to do so can result in incomplete or inaccurate information which may lead to delays in processing pension contributions or benefits payments. RSA holders are therefore strongly advised to complete the DRE promptly and ensure all submitted information and documents are accurate.
