Edidiong Akan holds a degree in Law from the University of Jos and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002. She has over 20 years’ experience spanning legal practice, business development, risk management and compliance. 

Before taking on the role of Chief Compliance Officer, she had previously served as the pioneer Regional Manager, North-West and briefly took on the role of Legal Risk Officer of Stanbic IBTC Bank PLC in 2010. Since joining the Compliance team in 2011, she has been pivotal to the growth and success of the function in embedding regulatory requirements within the operations of the Organization.  

A key industry resource, she has served as an executive of the industry Compliance Officers’ Forum (2017-2018) and is a regular facilitator during the annual industry Compliance Officers’ Forum.  

Edidiong is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria and the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics.
