Chuma is the Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC with over three decades of leadership experience across Africa. He has held several Chief Executive and Board level roles in leading financial institutions, with a strong record of driving strategic growth, sound governance, and operational excellence. A seasoned banking executive and chartered accountant, he has extensive experience in building and leading high performing teams. His expertise spans retail and corporate banking, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory engagement, and regional expansion, complemented by a proven track record in board governance, financial oversight, and strategic transformation across Pan African organisations.

Chuma previously served as Chief Executive of Standard Bank Mozambique, a subsidiary of the Standard Bank Group. Between 2005 and 2022, he held several senior leadership roles within the Bank, including Head of Finance, Chief Operating Officer, and Head of Personal & Business Banking. Earlier in his career, he spent five years with KPMG Mozambique as an Expatriate Manager between 2000 and 2005.

Prior to his appointment as the Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC, Chuma served as a Regional Managing Director at Access Bank, overseeing operations in Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, Zambia and green field expansion into Namibia.

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), having trained with Coopers & Lybrand and subsequently working with PricewaterhouseCoopers, he is also an alumnus of Harvard, MIT Sloan, Oxford, and Henley Business School.
